BAYLA CHECKING OUT THE FOUNTAIN

Well Brooke and I took a little trip to visit our mom...It all started that we were homesick and wanted to see her. We figured maybe Mother's day...but we got a little too excited, knowing we were keeping it secret. We called each other probably the next day and decided we were too excited and couldn't wait until May. So we looked at the Calendar and found a good time to go...It was still a good month before we could go because of other busy family stuff going on. We figured we would get to mom's house around the 17th of March, which ended up being perfect. Mimi had passed away on this day four years ago. The 16th me and Ashlynn drove from Vernal to Salt Lake to pick up Brooke and Bayla and headed down the road. I'm not going to pick on Bayla, but she had a really tough time traveling. She seriously would not go to sleep...she was so determined to stay awake. It's fun to watch Brooke with her little girl...she really is a good mommy. We made it as far as Winnemucca that night...and with 6 hours of broken sleep we headed down the road. From Brooke's this is a total of 14 hours and 17 for me...LONG RIDE. We should of flown...but we were also going to pick up some of Brooke's treasures that no longer could be stored at my Grandpa's house (who passed away this past fall). Hence the main reason we drove...which on another note it was amazing we could fit anything else in considering all the baby gear and who knows what else was stuffed in my suburban. So Nine ours later we were pulling into Coos Bay, knowing my mom was at a church meeting we knew where to find her...we had talked to her a couple of times that day acting like it was any other day. We made it minutes to spare before her meeting started...we looked really awesome in our casual driving wear. Pretty much everyone was in the meeting, so we asked if we could just slip in for a second (ok we didn't ask we just slipped by). We walked over behind our mom and she turned and had to take a double take...and then it was hilarious...she was so excited and explained to everyone that we were her daughters from UT...Hahaha...it was so great! I think Brooke and I may have been even more excited. While mom was in her meeting, we knew Frank and some youth were down at this yummy little mediteranean cafe...so we went down there. He didn't notice us as we came in, so we sat down a table away and waited to see if he would look, he was too into whatever they were talking about...Brooke and I were giggling and finally we said SURPRISE...and his reaction was just about as awesome as moms. He was so surpised...so funny...great memories! Thanks Brookie for driving for 28 hours in the car with me and sitting with the babies and entertaining them...driving was way easier than entertaining the babies!
