UMPQUA LIGHTHOUSE BEACH
The kids and I went in search of a new beach last Saturday and we ended up going to see the Umpqua Lighthouse, they have a really nice state park that we'll have to go back to hike, and we found beach access. Not my favorite, but it was such a gorgeous day, sun shining, waves crashing and it had warmed up to high 50's and the wind was mild (a bonus on the coast). There were dunes right behind us, lots of people out riding atv's...the kids thought that looked fun, maybe one day we'll have to try it out! The kids would climb up some small dunes right by the beach and slide down them, they called it sand sledding :) It entertained them for a while at least. Ashlynn loved playing in the sand and was sad when we left.

SUNSET BAY
Where can I turn for peace...
Where can I turn for peace?
Where is my solace when other sources cease to make me whole?
When with a wounded heart, anger, or malice, I draw myself apart,
searching my soul?
Where, when my aching grows,
where, when I languish, where, in my need to know, where can I run?
Where is the quiet hand to calm my anguish? Who, who can understand?
He, only One.
He answers privately, reaches my reaching
In my Gethsemane, Savior and friend.
Gentle the peace he finds for my beseeching. Constant he is and kind,
Love without end.

I have had a really wierd last few days...just not feeling my usual crazy self, when I can just go go go! I missed out on church this morning, I had a horrible tension headache and on top of that Ashlynn had a runny nose :(
I was feeling really sad, so I started singing this hymn and it is amazing how a song can lift your spirits. :) Even though life is full of trials and challenges, I know I can always turn to Him for peace. And that is usually what I am searching for, Peace.

BEACH 2011
We got out of the house the other day, had a break in the rain and went and enjoyed some of our favorite sites. We walked around Cape Arago and then headed to bastendorff for a while. I really love living on the Oregon Coast...I love the rain, I love watching the ocean, I love the trees. Mostly I love my family and I'm happy to be living here.
